It
was a nice sunny day in March. The museum of natural history Naturalis
had a special exhibit about South American Dinosaurs and since i never visited
a museum when i was a kid, i took my digital camera and gassed it. Well actually
someone else drove, but who cares, right? On this page are 48 pictures from
Naturalis' regular exhibit and "Dino Argentino". These pictures were
all taken with an Olympus C-300 Zoom and although this camera is fantastic,
not all pictures turned out great, since flashing was forbidden and due to bad
lighting at the displays.
Although
the specimens on display are quite nice, there is just too few for Dinosaur
fans. True, there are a large number of South American fossils on display until
the 17th of August 2003, but the Dinosaurs that are normally on display are
just not enough for my taste. Let's face it, 3 specimens just don't cut it.
Naturalis'
biggest problem is their bad lighting and outdated information. A good example
is that they are still categorizing these creatures as reptiles. Truly unforgiveable
in this century, where science has accepted them as the ancestors of birds.
If you have the opportunity to visit now, i say go ahead and enjoy those "exotic"
Dino's. Otherwise, buy a nice new book and enjoy the pics and correct information
found there.. 3 out of 5 stars - poor.
