This is probably the reason why you entered our
site: The toys from the first JP movie! Released in 1993 by Kenner,
these are, according to most fans, the best out there and almost considered
classics. The Dinosaurs in this line are all superbly sculpted and highly
detailed, getting more than just kids to notice and collect them. Kenner
also made almost all the human characters and vehicles and only missed
a few. Each Dinosaur and human figure came with a collector card, featuring
great artwork and Dino-facts, adding to the overall value of the toy.
The human figures also came with a small Dinosaur hatchling and several
accessories. The three vehicles and 1 playset in the initial run were
all action packed and had, except for one, "Dino-damage" to
re-enact several pivotal scenes in the movie. Also produced was a 2nd
series in 1994, coinciding with the release of the video. These products
were, unfortunately, only available to the American market and produced
in far less numbers, creating a whole bunch of hard to find to even
very rare items. Just like the first series, these became instant classics
due to awesome sculpts and great features. This line-up introduced a
bunch of newly designed- and several movie -characters that weren't
present the first time around. Also new in this series were three new
vehicles and new collector cards with actual footage from the film on
them, earning them the title moviestill cards. Till this day, many people
still think this is the mother of all JP lines with each great diversity,
play value and design. We hope you'll enjoy the list and the pictures
below.

What's a variation?
When buying toys, you probably noticed this at some point: "The product inside may differ slightly from the pictures on the packaging". This is commonly found on the packaging of toys to inform you that the manufacturer is constantly updating their products. This is how variations are born on some items. So how can you recognize a variation? Well, that is actually quite easy. When looking at something you should always ask yourself this question: "Was it a deliberate change in the overall appearance or features of the product?" If the answer is yes, it is a variation. You should also note that a variation is the successor of the first version and is always abundant, where as a production error only occurs once or several times. This all sounds a bit confusing so i'll simplfy it. Try to answer for yourself if the following are variations:. Example 1: An Alan Grant figure with a black background within the bubble opposed to the original orange/black jungle background. Example 2: An Alan Grant figure without the JP mark on his pocket. Example 3: An Alan Grant figure with a collector card that is placed upside down on the card. Did you answer these yet? If so, which ones are variations and which are errors? What? Do you want me to give the answers? Ok, here goes. Only the first example is a true variation. Why? Well, a deliberate change was made to the packaging in an attempt to bring out the figure a bit better. Thus, an improvement over the first and thus, a variation. Examples 2 and 3 are both (production) errors. The Grant without the JP mark is a mere paint application error or rather a lack thereof, while example 3 is just a packing error. For more of these examples to test your knowledge, please check the other toy pages. As with all toy lines, a lot of advertising is
released onto the public to promote the goods and to increase sales.
With the release of the Jurassic Park toys it was no different. It had
an advantage though as Dinosaurs had always been very popular. Below
you will find examples of ads found in magazines, on posters, TV and
more. We hope to offer you a diversity of ads from countries all around
the globe. If you have any pictures or vids of ads, please e-mail
us!!!

So now that you've seen the majority of the toys,
you are probably wondering where the heck you can buy them. Well, then
i have some good and some bad news for you. The bad news is that these
toys are long gone from normal retail stores. The good news is that
you can still find these in specialist and/or comic shops and flea markets.
Of course, you can also get them from other collectors (check our trade/sale
forum) and online stores. Sites like Ebay have a great variety of products
available and if you look well enough, you can find some great deals
floating around. To start your search for JP toys on Ebay, we have prepared
a search for you. Just click here
and you'll be taken to it. Please note that, while we may be experts
when it comes to JP, others may not. So when you have finished your
initial search, try again by changing the word "Jurassic"
in Jurassic Park into one of the following: Jurrassic, Jurasic, Jurasick,
Jurasik and other combinations you can think of. Then there's also the
word "Park", which some people write down as "Parc".
Now iknow this might sound stupid, but people make mistakes and there's
no harm in profiting from them here. :D
